The sustainability team at AVDC can offer a range of advice and services to business. :
The types of advice given are as follows:
- Provide energy efficiency advice
- Provide advice on retrofit energy saving technology
- Direct learning from Councils experience (share lessons learnt and build momentum)
- Signpost to specialist advice and grants where applicable
- Train and offer guidance and advice on climate change and energy management
- Advise on and provision of and linkages to transport planning
- Assist with case for action on carbon/energy saving
- Development of local carbon framework and links to government’s Green Deal
- Signposting to environmental/waste training through Utilise (CEAC)
- Advice on waste management technology and legislation
Planning applications:
Address all relevant planning applications on site waste management plans, conformity to Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM, waste collection requirements (highways tracking, access, collection type and point), and assess renewable and low carbon technologies proposed for appropriateness and suitability.
Other forms of support
- Delivery of conferences, workshops, exhibitions to business groups
- Advise on renewable energy technologies and current incentives for these technologies (e.g. Feed in Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive)
- Looking at business provision of options to reduce or sequester carbon
- Networking events
